The soft rustle of LEGO being pushed around a big plastic tub is music to the ears. Whether you’re an energetic ten-year-old dead set on making some unwieldy, badly engineered space ship or you’re an adult who just wants to build that portrait of Darth Maul to mount on your wall, the sound of LEGO is too enticing. That’s why LEGO has made a Spotify playlist that consists of nothing but white noise generated by all those spare bricks they likely have lying around.

While we might not necessarily want to fall asleep to the sound of thousands of plastic blocks shifting endlessly in a box, you probably wouldn’t need to look far to find someone who does appreciate it. Don’t get us wrong, there’s something weirdly… calming about the sounds. The tracks on the playlist feature every part of the process; you’ll hear pages in the guide being flipped, bricks being skimmed through and the gentle clip of two blocks fitting together. We don’t know why it’s so effective but it certainly is.

LEGO of all your worries

The playlist isn’t especially long, only containing seven tracks but each one is roughly 30 minutes long so it’ll take a few hours to get through the whole thing. Perfect for folks looking for something soothing to fall asleep to. The tracks are fairly varied too with some replicating the building process while others simulate other sounds like a waterfall, obviously all achieved by using LEGO bricks. Same goes for the “Wild as the Wind” track which sounds remarkably authentic.

“Each LEGO element makes a unique noise, which is why designers experimented with over 10,000 in their quest for the perfect soothing sounds. The result is a soundscape that includes tracks such as ‘It All Clicks’ which perfectly captures the joyous sound of two LEGO elements joining together, and ‘The Waterfall’ created by pouring thousands of LEGO bricks on top of each other,” reads the blog post announcement published by the LEGO Group.

“Like other white noise tracks, the playlist is designed to help listeners find a moment of zen in their day, making it the perfect audio accompaniment for falling asleep, unwinding, or relaxing through LEGO building. The playlist can be accessed for free from over 15 different music streaming platforms including Spotify and iTunes,” continues the post.

If you want to check it out head on over here and give it a listen. Trust us, it’s way more calming than you think.
