Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi has launched the latest version of its Android skin MIUI 13 in India. The new Xiaomi software comes with many new features like live wallpaper, a new sidebar menu, better RAM optimization, and better battery optimization tools. Xiaomi has also laid out its roadmap for the MIUI 13 rollout, where the company said that 10 of its smartphones in India will get the latest MIUI 13 update in Q1 2022. Let’s take a look at all the new features coming to Xiaomi smartphones with MIUI.

With MIUI 13, Xiaomi smartphones will get a new optimized file storage system that will enhance the read and write speed of files stored in your Xiaomi smartphone after 3 years. This, the company has named “liquid storage”. The new RAM optimization in MIUI 13, called “Atomized Memory”, will increase the background process efficiency on Xiaomi smartphones by up to 40 percent. Apart from this, there is a new Smart Balance feature that will extend the battery life of Xiaomi smartphones by up to 10 percent.

MIUI 13 update hits Mi 10T Pro (April 13th)
MIUI 13 will also bring new widgets to the Xiaomi smartphone, as well as a new sidebar for quick access to settings and tools. With the new widgets, Xiaomi users will be able to further personalize their smartphones according to their needs and usage in the app vault or home screen. MIUI 13 comes with support for widgets of different sizes including 2×1, 2×2, 2×3, 4×2, and 4×4 size options.
On the other hand, the sidebar is another efficient tool that will allow Xiaomi smartphone users to access all their favorite apps and tools in a floating window with just one swipe – similar to the sidebar that we have seen on Samsung smartphones. According to the company, this will enhance multitasking on Xiaomi devices/users can put up to 10 apps on the sidebar at a time.
The company has partnered with visual content firm Beauty of Science to add new live wallpapers on MIUI 13. With MIUI 13, the company claims that there are very few system apps that cannot be uninstalled.

These MI and Redmi phones will get new updates

Xiaomi revealed that MIUI 13 will be available starting from the first quarter of 2022 for devices including Xiaomi 11T Pro, Xiaomi 11 Lite NE 5G, Mi 11X Pro, and Mi 11 Lite. The list also includes Redmi smartphones like Redmi Note 10 Pro Max, Redmi Note 10 Pro, Redmi Note 10, and Redmi 10 Prime, which will continue to receive updates during the same period. Xiaomi will also share the MIUI 13 update roadmap for other Xiaomi and Redmi phones.
