Actress Drew Barrymore has had her own talk show on YouTube since 2020. Now she has a new job. The 48-year-old will host this year’s MTV Movie & TV Awards and promises viewers an “epic night”.

Drew Barrymore will host the 2023 MTV Movie & TV Awards. This year, the awards show will take place on Monday, May 8th at 1:00 a.m. German time, MTV has announced in a press release. The event from the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica will be broadcast live to 150 countries.

The actress announced the good news on her own talk show, The Drew Barrymore Show, which she has hosted since 2020. Barrymore prepares viewers and fans for an “epic night” of “huge movie stars” and “big moments” in the clip, which can be seen on YouTube. The nominees or other moderators for the awards ceremony, which has been held since 1992, have not yet been determined.

Last year, Marvel blockbuster Spider-Man: No Way Home starring Tom Holland won Best Movie, while HBO production Euphoria won Best Show of the Year . Actress Barrymore has already won an MTV Movie & TV Award three times, with a total of nine nominations.
