Jennifer Lawrence has responded to rumors that she once had an affair with Liam Hemsworth. There was nothing to the story, she explained on the US show “Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen”.

The rumors surfaced a few months ago after Miley Cyrus released the music video for her song “Flowers.” Some suspected the singer was shooting at the Hollywood star – possibly because Lawrence had an affair with Hemsworth when he was still with Cyrus.

Cyrus and Hemsworth had an on-off relationship for years. After their wedding at the end of 2018, the separation followed just a few months later in the summer of 2019. Lawrence and Hemsworth know each other from working together on The Hunger Games. From 2012 to 2015 they stood together in front of the camera for the hit fantasy series.

“Secret dalliance”?

When Andy Cohen welcomed Lawrence as a guest on his show, he addressed her directly about Cyrus’ music video. The clip caused some uproar because it may indicate a “secret dalliance” between her and Hemsworth, the moderator explained. She would love to respond, Lawrence replied, as can be seen from a recording of the relevant passage, which is available, among other things, from the US portal “Page Six”.

“Not true,” the 32-year-old stated unequivocally. “Not true, total rumour,” she insisted again. Hemsworth and she kissed once, but that was years after her fellow actor broke up with Cyrus.

She attended the event with her co-stars Hemsworth and Josh Hutcherson. The resemblance of the outfits is just a coincidence, Lawrence is convinced.

While Miley Cyrus has not entered into a new permanent partnership after her marriage to Hemsworth, Lawrence has been in firm hands for several years. In 2019 she married the art dealer Cooke Maroney, in February 2022 the two became parents for the first time.

In the podcast “The Rewatchables” the actress recently revealed another secret: Before her role in “The Hunger Games” she applied in vain for an engagement in the vampire saga “Twilight”. “I worked for ‘Twilight’ auditioned and they turned me down straight away,” Lawrence blurted out. “I didn’t even get a call back to get into the second round.”

Lawrence will certainly not complain about this afterwards, after all, her portrayal of Katniss Everdeen in “The Hunger Games” made her a world star. In the prequel “The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes”, which is currently in the making, she will not be seen – at least not in the role of a grandma. “‘Is it true you’re in the Hunger Games prequel as Katniss’ grandmother?'” Andy Cohen forwarded a fan question to Lawrence on his show. The actress reacted indignantly: “Oh, because I’m 49 in Hollywood years, or what?”
